Don
Feigert has been the outdoors writer for The Herald
in Sharon, PA, and the Allied News in Grove City
since April of the year 2000. During that time he has
written more than 200 “The Evening Campfire” columns on
a wide variety of topics, including wild trout fishing,
hunting, hiking, humor, conservation issues, and
outdoors appreciation.
Feigert’s work has won several awards from the
Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association, the Midwest
Writers Conference, and the Motley Fool national essay
competition, among others. Following are some sample
